Last week I spent the weekend at my aunt’s apartment in Brooklyn with my mom and sister. As soon as we arrived in Brooklyn we went to my Aunt’s restaurant, Watty & Meg for dinner. We were treated to all sorts of appetizers, drinks, desserts and good company.
The weekend was spent wandering all around Brooklyn. My aunt took us to this awesome coffee shop. Seriously, it’s my new favorite place. It’s called Java Joe and they have the absolute best iced chai. For breakfast we had donuts from a cute little diner not too far from her apartment.
Later on my mom and I ventured over the Brooklyn Bridge. I’ve walked the Brooklyn Bridge once before in high school but haven’t been able to do it since moving to New York for School. It was a bit of a trek but I’m glad we did it.
This weekend was just the right amount of relaxation and adventure I needed.
If you are ever in Brooklyn I’m not kidding you must go to Java Joe, it is AMAZING!
This Fall I had the privilege to once again attend New York Fashion Week. The show also happened to fall on my 21st birthday (best birthday present ever!). In the past the shows have been at Lincoln center but this year they were moved to the Skylight at Moynihan Station. One of my cousins works for the designer Tadashi Shoji and was able to get me in to see his show. The show was breathtakingly beautiful.
After much debate I ended up wearing a black and white Urban Outfitters dress with a gold Madewell necklace and my converse.
While visiting a friend in the Hampton’s a couple of weeks ago, Priya and I ventured out to see the Montauk Lighthouse. Instead of paying the high price to enter the lighthouse we climbed the rocks that surrounded the perimeter of the lighthouse. In my opinion this was way more fun. The water was so beautiful and calming and offered a stunning view of the coast.
