This past weekend I went to Witches Brew, a small cafe that offers the tastiest drinks, snacks and desserts near my school. It’s a tiny little coffee shop with an odd assortment of sofas and chairs paired with small glass tables. In the spirit of the season their walls were covered with twinkling lights, spiders caught in webs and other scary creatures.

I had a frozen hot chocolate with a warm cinnamon bun with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious.

How do you celebrate Halloween?

City Wandering

The other night I went into the city to see a performance at New York City Center, ALONE. I stress the alone part because it was not intended. I debated whether or not to even go but knew I would regret not going.

I like to think I know my way around the city well enough to get where I need to go with a little help from Hopstop and google maps but I usually have a friend to help with directions. With all of the decisions on me,  I navigated my way around midtown and made it to the theatre with time to spare!

I was proud of myself for successfully getting to the show. This may be a small feat for others but for a first timer like me, it was quite an accomplishment. I’m happy I ended up going to the show, not only because the performance was spectacular but because I did something I’ve never done before and I realized how much I enjoyed it. Going to the city alone and wandering around is an experience like no other.

Have you ever been in the city by yourself before?
